The quest for the perfect Manchester

I am a shopaholic (as the name of this blog suggests) but unlike most other girls in my social circle, I like to spend more on homewares than clothing & accessories. It's a bit odd but I dream about new sheet sets more than I dream about a new pair of shoes and don't get me wrong, I do love my shoes and have a reasonable taste in shoes shopping.

Growing up in inner-west Sydney and (mostly) being a geek girl, a tidy house was always a part of the education I received from parents. My mum had quite a love affair with those layered 100% cotton quilt sets or those hotel quality sheets. Our beds were always made up like hotel rooms and an uncle of ours (a real estate agent in Gordon) always joked about the fact that our home looked like those homes going for auctions every Saturday in Sydney.

Over the time, bedding is becoming more and more expensive. You can't find 100% cotton in designer brands and the cotton sheets are now made with low quality cotton. In last few years, I have tried plenty of labels (from Adairs, Zanui, Harvey Norman Bedding, Domayne, DealsDirect, Bambury, H&M to ordering bedding from the US sites like Macy's) and have had mixed experiences.

In summary, Australian retail stores are now completely out of question unless you are willing to pay 3 times the prices at a local Westfield (sorry David Jones and Myers but you are too expensive for my taste and for my money). I would recommend going to H&M as they have just opened a new outlet near where I live and I was impressed with quality and prices of bedding in that outlet but selection was fairly limited and staff not particularly friendly.

DealsDirect is your friend if your budget is low or you are being chased by a large mortgage. You can also grab a 15% off Dealdirect coupon to sweeten the deal. My advice is to not get too impressed by discount prices, you get what you pay for and don't go anywhere near those cheap plasticy coffee machines from these guys unless you want to smell plastic in your morning coffee (I should write about that in another post).

Macy and Bloomingdales now ship to Australia but a falling Australian dollar means they are not as good bargains as they used to be a few months ago. They are worth checking though and I will wait for their year end sales (boxing day, thankgiving etc. for a good deal).

Feel free to leave a comment, this is a new blog and your comments and ideas will definitely encourage me.

Why Dominos Coupons are so hard to find?

I will make this a short post (for being my first post as well).

I spent last 30 minutes trying to find Dominos Coupons online and it's not that easy any more. A simple Google search returned pages after pages of irrelevant websites from all over the world claiming to have listed 'various verified coupons' for my convenience yet none of these sites actually had any of the Domino's coupons listed.

I ended up finding Australian coupons for Dominos at TopBargains (thanks nick123 for posting them).

So what did I order from Dominos? A regular cheese pizza and 2 garlic bread.
